When your child has been through such an ordeal, you can never truly shake the worry of what health issues could present in the future, but it is the community of people supporting research and patient needs that drives hope. Thanks to the ever-expanding body of shared knowledge from studies (that children like Aubrey have participated in) research is improving treatment protocols and ultimately outcomes.

Lucas’ light began to dim. It was heartbreaking. Yet Lucas filled the Oncology/Hematology ward with his contagious smile and laughter.

Sophia Girn

Ten years ago, Sophia was diagnosed with lymphoma just days before her fourth birthday. What began as what seemed like a simple cold led to the discovery of a tumor pressing on her lungs, and she immediately began a two-and-a-half-year treatment journey. As parents, we remember every needle, every surgery, every terrifying moment. Sophia remembers the kindness — the people who showed up, the playrooms, and the care she received along the way. Today, Sophia is thriving.

Michelle Seredenko

Before Michelle was a cancer patient, she was just a little girl. A little girl who loves playing video games, drawing for hours, and practicing yoga because it helps her feel calm. She proudly earned her yellow belt in Taekwondo, and she dreams that one day she will work with animals and take care of them. She’s nine years old now, with a bright smile and the softest, most caring heart. That’s who Michelle truly is — not a diagnosis, just a beautiful child with big dreams.
